Q: Why did you want to start this kind of business?
A: I have been practicing since 2010. I always wanted to run my own law firm. After the pandemic taught me how to utilize technology effectively, and after adopting our children, I thought it was the right time to do things on my own.
Q: How did you get your start?
A: I opened my own practice out of happenstance. I was “of counsel” with another attorney. He decided to close his practice and join a large law firm in Philadelphia. Since I was essentially doing my own thing under his name and likeness, I utilized much of the same infrastructure he had and opened my own law firm.
Q: What does your business sell or provide?
A: Elder law legal services. We help clients prepare for aging by making sure they have the right documents in place and that they are educated on how long-term care and related costs can impact their plan. We also help clients make sure they are receiving good care wherever they are receiving it (whether at home or in a facility).
Q: What is the biggest challenge you are facing right now?
A: The biggest challenge at the moment is growing too quickly without the right amount of staff or succession plan in place. Work has been steadily increasing since I started in 2021. The challenge now is trying to grow at a sustainable level.
Q: What is your favorite thing to do or place in Cumberland County?
A: My favorite thing about Cumberland County is the location. You can be in many major cities along the East Coast in a reasonable amount of travel time.
