Q: Why did you want to start this kind of business?

A: I have always been passionate about animals. I owned a goldendoodle and saw how high the demand was for groomers and how difficult it was to find someone accepting new clients. I had a very bad experience at a local groomer so I started grooming him myself. That’s when the fire for grooming was lit.

Q: How did you get your start?

A: I realized that I was very unhappy working an 8-5 corporate job and my real passion was working with dogs. I was tired of being unappreciated and overworked. I was also really craving an outlet to use the creative side of my brain. It took several years for my husband to agree to launching our own business, because, let’s be honest, it’s a big risk. I knew that I wanted to be a mobile groomer and I wanted to be the boss. Mobile grooming definitely comes with its own set of challenges, like when a water pump stops working or the generator needs maintenance, but the flexibility to set my own days/hours for family/work life balance has been the greatest thing to happen for us.

Q: What does your business sell or provide?

A: I am a mobile dog groomer that provides a full grooming experience right from the comfort of your home.

Q: What is the biggest challenge you are facing right now?

A: The biggest challenge that I’m facing right now is too many clients and not enough hands. I dislike having to turn people away.

Q: What is your favorite thing to do or place in Cumberland County?

A: My husband and I love all the bodies of water that allow us to kayak, fish and just enjoy wildlife.
