Q: Why did you want to start this kind of business?
A: Early in my career I was focused on high performance and specifically working with athletes. I spent over a decade at Dickinson College acquiring knowledge and skills as a licensed athletic trainer. This allowed me to test and refine my model so when I decided to open the doors to Richmond Training Systems, I had developed just that: a complete system of exercise, nutrition, mobility, recovery and mental health.
As I started to work with more general population adults, I fell in love with helping parents. I realized that parents were the key to ending the cycle of obesity and sedentary lifestyles. I realized that if I could help moms and dads get fit and healthy, this would have a huge impact not only on their health and fitness but on their kids’ health and fitness. Our children mimic what we do. If you are overweight and sedentary, most likely, your kids will be overweight and sedentary.
Q: How did you get your start?
A: As I was working at Dickinson College, former athletes and parents would always ask me for advice and workout plans. So in 2019, I decided to start a side hustle selling programming online. Over time, I slowly realized I was becoming more passionate about building my business and helping other parents, so I decided to make this my full-time job, left Dickinson and went all in on RTS in 2022.
Q: What does your business sell or provide?
A: I sell a 12-week Total Health Transformation program that helps parents lose up to 20 pounds and build muscle without crazy workouts or restrictive diets.
Q: What is the biggest challenge you are facing right now?
A: Growing my audience and getting my content in front of more eyes.
Q: What is your favorite thing to do or place in Cumberland County?
A: I love fishing. Most weekends you will find my son and I at Opossum Lake, floating the Conodoguinet or wading the Yellow Breeches.
